APPLICATION CRITERIA
Portal opens on 18th JUNE and closes on 18th JULY (A 1 Month period
Eligibility
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
- Military Secondary School/Federal Government Colleges Students
- Must be currently enrolled in a military secondary school or a Federal Government College in Nigeria.
- Should demonstrate leadership, discipline, and a commitment to Nigerian core values.
- National Youth Service Corps Members
- Must be a current National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in any of Nigeria’s 36 states.
- Must also be in the first 3 to 6months of their service year
- Should be able to articulate the value of national integration and community development.
- Communication & Branding Experts
- Must have demonstrable experience or training in branding, digital storytelling, media production, or communication strategy.
- Should possess the skills to transform patriotic concepts into impactful narratives for digital platforms.
General Requirements
All applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Submit both a Preliminary Challenge and task as outlined in their respective category.
- Ensure all content is original, culturally sensitive, and relevant to national identity and patriotism.
- High-Quality Video: All videos must be shot using high-resolution cameras in well-lit areas.
Uniform Requirements:
– Students from Military Schools and Federal Government Colleges must wear their school uniforms while recording the video.– NYSC members must wear their full kit while recording the video.
Disqualification Notice: Any application that fails to meet these criteria will be automatically disqualified.
Submission Guidelines: Preliminary Challenge
- Must be a 2–5-minute video, depending on category.
- Should introduce the applicant’s personal, professional, or civic connection to Nigerian identity.

Create a compelling two-minute video that captures your personal connection to Nigerian identity and values.
- NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORP MEMBERS (GROUP TASK): HOMETOWN HEROES
- Preliminary Challenge: “My NYSC Journey”
Craft an authentic 5-minute video reflection on how your NYSC experience will transform your understanding of Nigerian patriotism and community
- COMMUNICATION AND BRANDING EXPERTS: HERITAGE UNBOUND: FROM EVIDENCE TO DIGITAL NARRATIVES
- Preliminary Challenge: “Vision Pitch”
Submit a compelling 2-minute creative pitch that reimagines Nigeria’s cultural identity through digital storytelling.
GEM HUNT 4.0 consists of two stages:
- The Preliminary Challenge Stage
- The Primary Challenge Stage
Entries are open to interested applicants across all categories for the Preliminary Challenge Stage.
Applicants who successfully qualify from the Preliminary Stage will be contacted via email or phone for participation in the Primary Challenge Stage.
